Solace

Just watched it and ended up being in wikipedia searching communism, Richard Sorge, and Hotsumi Ozaki.  Richard Sorge was a freaking James Bond!!! He was actually Ian Fleming’s source of inspiration! I honestly thought I’d be bored since the film was 3 hours long instead I was trying so hard to understand what everyone was saying with all the history, tactics, and espionage. Much as I wanted to grasp everything, most of the script was in Japanese and my subtitle file was freaking horrendous T_T.  Some quotes below on wikipedia regarding Sorge: 

• “Sorge was the man whom I regard as the most formidable spy in history.” - Ian Fleming

• “Richard Sorge was the best spy of all time.” - Tom Clancy 
• “The spies in history who can say from their graves, the information I supplied to my masters, for better or worse, altered the history of our planet, can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Richard Sorge was in that group.” - Frederick Forsyth
