Daenerys I - ACOK and a little of the Final Daenerys chapter ADWD

“I had my share of fishwives and crofter’s daughters, before and after I was wed.”

I thought at first that Jorah was having his share of paramours but then this line came after…

“Ten years we were wed…” 

I understood this to mean that ‘wed’ was the period of his marriage with his first wife, therefore he never cheated on her. 

(No mention of characters in his life when Dany was asking about Lynesse) 

I think he omitted everyone’s name because his queen was asking only about his 2nd wife, not because he didn’t feel so strongly about the people he knows.  So everything he’s been telling her was building up about his love and heartbreak on Lynesse.  

I really liked GRRM’s narration here because the storytelling by a non-POV character brought much emotion to me, especially “almost as much as I loved her.” Am also very curious on how the tv show will portray this part since his Lynesse revelation was shown in S1:
  Jorah: I had no money, and an expensive wife.
  Dany: Where is she now?
  Jorah: In another place, with another man.

What I was surprised about was Dany, that she was actually willing to imagine ‘loving’ Jorah when she discovered he loves her as a woman.  She didn’t omit the possibility but tried to see if it was something she could accept in the future.  At that moment she didn’t and probably will never see him that way (NOOOOOOoooo Jorah/Dany FOREVER!!!!) but as her beloved companion will Jorah always be.

Which leads me to hope with the ADWD waking dream.  “She wanted…to wrap her arms around him and press herself against his chest.” I find it peculiar that she wanted to embrace him when the only remembrance of such is when he kissed her on Balerion.  :)
